Our Innovations

Emotion engine
Voice assistants can understand you, but a living companion must have emotions. We have developed an emotional system that reacts to what we hear and see. Did the person say thank you to Stella? Stella saw a person - a friend? Joy. Stells couldn't help? Sadness. The human friend is upset - the Stella is also sad.
Memory mechanism
Stella is not a chatbot. She must remember not only the last 20 phrases, but conversations over the years. People's faces. Objects she saw around her. Distinguish what is important from what is unimportant. Connect stories and the people who told them. It requires a complex mechanism similar to the human long-term memory system, and we are developing it.
Speaker and intentions recognition
It is important for Stella to understand not only what was said, but also who said it and to whom. Background conversation? Question for Stella? Using lip movement and gaze direction detection, we are solving this difficult problem.
Unique mechanical design
Stella must be able to stand, sit, move her arms and head, and not cost $100,000. Therefore, we are developing a minimally sufficient movable skeleton using widely available electric actuators and sensors.
Our Technologies
OpenAI Platform
We are using GPT4 as intelligence "core", not only for "answers" but for intents recognition, summarization, tasks planning and many other. We also using Whisper as a part of voice recognition.
Microsoft Azure AI services
We are using Azure platform as part of image recognition, speech recognition and synthesys.
OpenCV, Microsoft ONNX and ML.NET
OpenCV is industrial standard for machine vision systems and we are using it ta make Stella to be able to see the world! But seeing is not enough. For Stella to understand, we need machine learning technologies, and we are using ML.NET platform and Microsoft ONNX Runtime that is a high-performance inference engine for deploying ONNX models.

I am Sasha Sovenko. I have a master's degree in computer science and have more than 15 years of experience in the development of computer vision systems, electronics, and automation. I also have professional training as a clinical psychologist. The fusion of psychology and engineering gives me a great understanding of how a companion robot should be made.
